Discover a new word of Rucking

Last weekend, I visited the city of Bristol in the UK. While I was walking through the streets with my luggage on my back, I realised I was doing something very similar to rucking! It really fits the meaning of this word and I thought it would be fun to share it with you.

How often will you carry things like this?

I recently came across in my favorite Cambridge Dictionary – rucking. It’s not yet an official word in the dictionary, but it’s growing in popularity.

So, what exactly is rucking? It’s an exercise where you walk or hike while carrying a heavy backpack or rucksack. The added weight makes it a low-impact yet highly effective way to build strength and improve your heart health. Originally a part of military training, rucking is becoming popular as a workout for anyone looking to stay fit without intense physical strain.

How to use rucking in a sentence:

  1. I’ve started rucking through the park with a weighted backpack.

  2. After my trip to Bristol, I realised I had been rucking without even knowing it!

Give it a try! Whether you're walking in the city or hiking in nature, rucking adds a great challenge to your usual routine.

Next time, I'll talk about Bristol's amazing street art. Stay tuned!
